The Glorious Qur’an mentions, "And those who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allah speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us? So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty.” [Surah Baqarah 2:118]

He is Our Creator.
As children we know our parents who gave birth to us in this world, in the same way it is incumbent upon us to know the one who created us. Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) is the Creator of all the existent things and is the One who manages all the creation. The Glorious Qur’an says, “Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian over all things.” [Surah Zumar 39:62]

He commanded us to Know Him.
God almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) the Most Wise has shown us the perfect way of life by sending prophets with the message of Islam and through his prophets commanded the human beings to know and recognize the true creator. It is essential for us to know our Creator to develop a true love, for indeed if we don't know Him we cannot love Him. The Glorious Qur’an says, “And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah. [Surah Baqarah 2:165].

To Know the Correct Path
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have said, “One among you who knows Allah best is the one who fears Him most, and I fear Him more than anyone” [Bukhari]. The Glorious Qur’an says, “Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah” and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. [Surah Fussilat 41:30].

Proper knowledge about Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) will prevent us from falling in to the grave sin of Shirk i.e associating false deities in worship along with the true God. The Glorious Qur’an says, “Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.” [Surah Ta Ha 20:14].
